Community.   Aspen has always worked with the local health community to both raise the standard and level of service, as well as increase the capability and capacity of health services in the local community.   The returns to the Community are listed below:

  • Local Health Economies.   Aspen has engaged with local community healthcare providers to develop methods for supporting the delivery of services to its customers as well as increasing the services to the community.
  • Provision of Emergency Services.   Aspen provides emergency care as required to support the local community; care that is usually outside the contract requirements.  
  • Training.   Aspen conduct a range of pro-bono training to local community groups in regions around the major contract sites.   
  • Charity.   Aspen is proud of its charity support.   Aspen supports a range of charities through a range of means.   Some examples are shown below:

Donations.   Aspen provides both financial and material (such has pharmacy stock or equipment) donations to charities in Australia, Timor and the Solomon Islands.  These include:

•Special Olympics Australia;
•Rotary in Australia and the Solomon Islands;
•Solomon Islander villages;
•Diabetes Association; and
•Down Syndrome Association.

Pro Bono Activities. Aspen staff donate their time in pro bono activities to a range of charities, and organisations both in Australia and overseas.  Some of these include:

•Dr Dan’s Clinic in Timor L’Este;
• Down Syndrome Association; and
• Provision of life saving surgery in Solomon Islands and Timor L’Este.
• Special Olympics events, such as the 2008 Australian Junior National Games

The Aspen Foundation.   Aspen has established the Aspen Foundation whose charter is to address key health issues in the Australian community, and find permanent solutions for them.
