Aspen Medical is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with an expert team of highly qualified staff. We provide a range of certified education which is acknowledged by the Australian Government and a number of professional clinical colleges. We provide training to Defence personnel in Australia and overseas as well as companies in the Oil & Gas, Mining & Resources and Government sectors.
Aspen Medical is contracted by Australia's Department of Defence to deliver the ‘Care of Battle Casualties’ first aid training course to all Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel deploying to the Middle East. To date we have trained more than 3,500 ADF personnel at the Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. The training is being given by Aspen Medical medics with recent combat experience. We provide this specialist first aid training to the troops before they are deployed into the field. The training course is designed for troops to adequately provide medical service to their fellow soldiers in the field and stabilise them until an evacuation can be completed. The aim is to prepare ADF personnel to treat combat casualties under circumstances where they may still be under insurgent fire. An integral part of the training is to create realistic combat conditions whilst administering first aid. We have also worked with the medical teams of foreign Defence forces to provide instruction in Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Trauma Life Support.
We have extensive experience with clients in the Oil & Gas and Mining & Resources sectors in delivering relevant, customised and flexible training programs including tool box training covering such topics as hydration in extreme heat and dealing with venomous bites, first aid training etc. International organisations such as the UN have benefitted from our training expertise in areas such as Trauma and Life Support, Radiology and Aero-Medical Evacuation (AME).
As a registered RTO, the Aspen Medical training team delivers accredited courses that include HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; HLTAID003 Provide First Aid; HLTHSE204D follow safe manual handling practices and UETTDRRD06B Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel.
