Aspen Medical Training Solomon Islands Health Professionals
Aspen Medical’s commitment to the Solomon Islands and world class healthcare training was further demonstrated today when Aspen Medical completed a series of training sessions for the National Referral Hospital, Honiara, Solomon Islands.
The NRH, also called Central Hospital or Number Nine, in Honiara has up to 400 beds and is the largest hospital in the Solomon Islands. The training provided by Aspen Medical to NRH staff covered basic ambulance operations.
Aspen has previously conducted first aid training to local nurses, as well as training in health administration. Aspen has also conducted equipment reviews and maintenance, as well as reviews of hospital departments and operating procedures.
Aspen Medical’s Managing Director Glenn Keys said "Providing this training is an excellent way to transfer skills to the local community. Aspen Medical has been operating in the Solomon Islands since April 2004 and has a long history supporting the local community. Many of Aspen’s staff give up their free time to support local clinics"
Aspen recently won an extension to its current contract to supply medical services to the Australian Federal Police and staff of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands also known as RAMSI.
Mr Keys concluded by saying "Aspen Medical is looking forward to its continued support of the NRH and the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) personnel."
