Aspen Medical wins ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award
Aspen Medical has won the Inclusion in Medium/Large Business Award at the 2010 ACT Chief Ministers Awards in Canberra.
The Inclusion Awards acknowledge the outstanding achievements of ACT businesses, organisations and individuals, who have demonstrated their commitment to encourage, welcome and support people with a disability in their workplace, business and community.
Aspen Medical has a proud history of supporting and employing people with disabilities. Since establishing in 2003 Aspen Medical has employed people with disabilities at a number of our sites and has supported a broad range of disability organisations and events including the Down Syndrome Association, the Special Olympics, and the Lions Club Kids Disabilities Christmas Shows.
The judging panel recognised Aspen Medical’s strong support for people with a disability and the fact the company has developed a clear culture of corporate social responsibility.
“Having people with a disability in the workplace has raised awareness, reduced ignorance, increased self-esteem, and made the Aspen Medical work environment more inclusive,” says Glenn Keys, Managing Director of Aspen Medical.
“It has also allowed all our staff, and the staff of the companies who work with us, to see the positive benefit that people with a disability can make in the workplace.”
“We are proud of our contribution to creating an inclusive environment, and will continue to contribute to a more inclusive society through employment, support and donations into the future.”
2010 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards were presented at a gala celebration in the Great Hall at Parliament House in Canberra.
