Aspen Medical wins Medical Services contract for the Wheatstone Project LNG Plant in WA

Aspen Medical has been contracted by Bechtel to provide Medical Services throughout construction of the onshore facility for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project. The future LNG Plant will be located near Onslow in Western Australia. Medical Services for the project will commence late 2011 through to 2017.Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG facility in northwest Australia.
 
Over the 6 year period Aspen Medical will deliver world class health and medical services, including diagnosis and treatment for primary care, emergency medical services and on-site medical assessments for the construction workforce, with 100 percent of the work under this contract being conducted in Australia, predominantly in Onslow, Western Australia. The estimated value of this contract is AUD$36 million.

Aspen already has a significant presence in supporting the healthcare of oil and gas workers in Western Australia through the provision of Aeromedical Evacuation (AME) across the state.   The largest players in the oil and gas industry in Western Australia have contracted Aspen Medical to provide complete AME services across the state. Aspen Medical operates a full time AME aircraft with aircrew and medical crew, placed full time at Karratha, in Western Australia’s remote northern regions. Aspen Medical has also developed an integrated model to support the local community health economy.
